Hope everyone made it home safe and sound.  Want to thank everyone for a very good weekend.  Other then being  cold and oh so windy the weather it was at least dry.  If the wind had not been so strong it would not have been too bad but Nanci provided the heat and some excellent food in the way of chicken noodle soup and two bean chicken chili.  The food table was full as usual with all the veggie tray, donuts, cookies, chips and cake.  So we kept our belly's full.

I also want to thank Bella and Jill for coming up to run as one of our height dogs and Tammie, Tim and Marsha for being the back up beagle.

A big Congratulations to Tammie and Tim for earning their FD and FDX this weekend.  Also Annie and Donna earned their FD and Maddie and Stephanie earned their FD also.  Unfortunately the teams finished way back in their divisions.  Our original plan for the weekend was to give Tammie, Annie and Maddie a few heats to get their feet wet, but due to circumstances they not only got their feet wet they went in head first.  On Sat.  Bella came up limping I believe in the first race, so Tammie came in to run back up.  She ran like she was born to play flyball.  Bella came back for the second race, but again came up lame, so Jill had to pull her out for the rest of the day.  Enter Tammie our back up Beagle.  We did get to run a beagle sandwich before Bella had to retire, with Bizzi, Bella, Tammie and Duffie.  The judge commented on you rarely see one Beagle run much less two in the same lineup.  But then Bella had to stop so Tammie stepped in  and there was no stopping her from there on.  But then we had a problem.  Tammie was not coming back on Sunday which meant no height dog.  Tim and Marsha had made plans but with a little arm twisting and being the good people they are they agreed to return today and run as our height dog.  I think they are hooked.

Donna and Annie got a few heats from Tara and Annie made her debut and ran perfectly.  She got her FD making her mom very happy.

It had been agreed that Maddie would get a few of Rosie's heats today in exchange to make her debut too.  The first race for their team Maddie ran warm up and did well. She really looked good.   We ran one heat and Bizzi lined up for the second heat and by the second jump going to the box he was limping.  He slowed down got his ball and then limped back,  enter Maddie who was waiting at the end of the run back.  Mass confusion with a change of line up had everyone anxious.  Maddie stepped in and ran every heat perfectly from there on.  The times dropped with the loss of Bizzi, but they stayed just outside that 24 second speed to rack up enough points to get their titles.  Duffie had to take over as start dog and Dave did a good job getting decent starts.  I think he only had one or two false starts.  So all and all it was a bad weekend for some of us but a good weekend for the green dogs.  And I can't forget Sampsyn who was doing full runs to the box by the time we were done today.  So he is next to make a debut.

I also want to brag a little bit on Kessie too.  I did Fri night racing with her against another Border Collie and she ran 4.1's and 4.2's.  The other dog crossed over on her twice and she never let it bother her.  Her mind was on that ball and that is all she thought about.  So I was really proud of how well she listened and controlled herself.  She may be in the line up before too long.

It is so great to have just good people on this team.  Everyone stepped up when our back was against the wall.  Times suffered and points were lost, but this was such a good tournament to test the green dogs and they all came through.  I have to include Roxy in this group too, even though she has a tournament under her belt she is still green and is learning fast.  As for Bizzi, I think he pulled a muscle.  I think his muscles were just not warmed up enough and that extra push he has when he is start dog may have just been enough to pull a muscle.  He is limping slightly, so he will be resting this week and we will see how it goes.
