Ri-Ra, the epitome of a working Border Collie, came to us via Carolina BC Rescue.  I’m not sure to this day who rescued whom, since we were somewhat adrift after retiring our ultimate Flyball dog, Ashley, after 7 years of flying fun, and having no Flyball playmate.  Ri-Ra is a 11-year old Black & White Border Collie, who, in between Agility, Obedience, and sheep-herding, spends her waking moments waiting for the next Flyball encounter.  She has been playing Flyball with First in Flight for several years, and is renowned for her exuberance, enthusiasm, boundless energy, and ball obsession.  Ri-Ra earned her Iron Dog award in 2014.  Flyball has provided a wonderful opportunity for her to work hard at something that she loves to do, as well as meet and greet all her fellow competitors and visitors, human and canine.  Handling her in competition is a breeze, since she runs so consistently, in any position that no adjustments are ever required.  Her pleasant temperament, athletic honesty, and absolute consistency make her an ideal mentor and teacher for our less experienced dogs.  She never met a dog she didn’t like!  She just keeps going, and going, and going, ...
